Wednesday Parents:
I
sent home Guided Reading binders yesterday.
We will be tweaking everything the first few weeks. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD
BRINGS THEIR BINDER BACK TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY! I will be trying to read with them as much as
I can. Some groups will met with daily.
FIELD TRIP IS
TOMORROW!!! THURSDAY the 16th… SAFETY TOWN!!!
If
you are planning on coming, please meet us there at 9:30am. We will be there until a little after 11am.
We will have lunch back at school. Your
child can still buy from the cafeteria if they want when we return. They do not have to have a sack lunch.
I
had a really good Monday talking to all of you!
Please know that I am going to do all I can to make sure each child’s
FIRST GRADE year is FUN, CHALLENGING AND
SUCCESSFUL!!!

I Can statements for the week:
Math - I can use the making tens
strategy to help compose numbers and solve problems when adding and
subtracting.
Reading - I can use fix-up
strategies to check my understanding, in order to revisit and rethink.
Science - I can classify objects by
observable properties of the materials from which they are made such as larger
and smaller, heavier and lighter, shape, color, and texture.
Writing - I can create complete
sentences in my writing pieces.
Spelling - I can
spell words with -id.
