Week of January 14th

Hi Parents-

I hope everyone had a restful weekend.  I got to babysit my sister’s twin 2 year olds.  We had a blast and were all over the house.  I had a lot to clean up by the end of
the night.  :o)

Please make sure if your child is sick that they are fever free and throw up free for at least 24 hours before you send them back.  We have had the flu, strep, stomach virus and fever going around the last few weeks.  I have been very diligent about spraying the room with Lysol 2 times a day!

I have attached the January home work calendar for you to view.  I have sent the homework packet home today in your child’s blue folder.

I have began Mid-year assessments today.  I will be testing math and reading levels for the next couple of weeks.  I will still be sending home
Guided reading books but maybe not as frequently as usual.

We are starting CoGat testing tomorrow.  We will be testing through Thursday.  If your child is absent, they will have time to make the test up when they return.

This week we are learning:
Writing: I can write with a specific audience in mind.
Reading: I can use a map to find Texas and the 4 cardinal directions.
Math: I can Order numbers to 100
Science: I can learn how rocks, soil, and water make useful products.

I hope everyone has a GREAT WEEK!!!!
